Truffly Made takes pride in creating equipment that empowers confectionary businesses and makes their production easier. Every machine and mold we manufacture is built to deliver the highest quality, helping candy makers achieve greater consistency, efficiency, and confidence in their production.
We know our customers rely on their equipment every day. In many kitchens, production lines run every single day, and some run nonstop, all day, every single day. That kind of demand reveals the difference between high-quality and low-quality equipment. While cheaper machines may save money upfront, they often cost more over time through repairs, replacements, and lost productivity.
Our goal is long-term reliability. We choose to manufacture our products in Germany not because it’s the cheapest option, but because it’s the best. Despite higher production costs, German manufacturing ensures superior craftsmanship, tighter quality control, and unmatched durability. Here’s why that matters.
Made in Germany
Over the years, the destination origin of Made in Germany has become synonymous with high quality materials, controlled production conditions, and a high standard of workmanship. In fact, Germany has become the world’s most respected ‘Made in’ label.
Not just anyone can use this designation. Those that do must exhibit excellence in each of the following parameters: development, design, production, and quality assurance. It also means that a significant majority of each of these segments are completed in Germany, preventing the designation label from being used when much of these processes are outsourced abroad.
Germans take a huge amount of pride in their manufacturing industry, and their reputation for quality is rooted in their culture. Nearly a quarter of the country’s workforce is employed in the manufacturing sector, and government programs encourage apprenticeship opportunities from a young age and expand into the support of high wages to attract and retain a particularly skilled workforce. The result is a deep tradition of craftsmanship and innovation that’s respected around the world.
Made in China
Many companies choose to manufacture in China because of lower labor and production costs. While this can reduce upfront expenses, there are a variety of drawbacks to this choice.
Low labor costs are frequently tied to various reports of overworked and underpaid employees, limited worker protections, and less stringent oversight. Rather than an industry known for a vibrant and innovative workforce, China’s manufacturing industry is often associated with forced overtime, unpaid labor, and illegitimate employee contracts, which can often impact quality, consistency, and reliability of the products made by these workers.
Intellectual property may be at higher risk in China. The highest percentage of counterfeit product seizures originate in China, which is not only risky to the consumer, but can damage the reputation of the company whose products are being cheaply replicated.
In addition, China is the world’s largest source of dangerous manufacturing emissions. As coal is a major energy source in the country, China’s CO2 emissions alone were more than double that of the U.S. in 2020 and created a dangerous level of air pollution in much of the country that remains a problem today. In contrast, Germany’s stricter environmental regulations and cleaner energy standards help reduce the ecological footprint of manufacturing.
